Price From : 2,000 Baht 2,500 Baht
On this two-day Chiang Mai trekking experience we will get you out to trek in the stunningly beautiful Mae Wang area which borders on Doi Inthanon National Park. The treks will get you to a Karen village and provide two good days trekking in the jungle.
The trip to the highlands and forest southwest of Chiang Mai will start once you are picked up from your accommodation in Chiang Mai. Before reaching the local market, a stop will be made. The guide will purchase food supplies for the trek into the mountains. We'll keep driving till we reach a Karen Village and the starting location of the morning's hike. A waterfall serves as the first pit stop, where you may take a rest and cool off in the water. After a littlemore trekking, it will be time for a lunch break in the jungle before continuing on to the Karen village that will be our final destination of the day. The late afternoon will allow you to spend time around the hamlet learning about the Karen customs and way of life. Dinner will be served by your guide, and you can spend the evening socializing with the other trekkers.
Be prepared with some warm clothing because mornings in the mountains are typically rather chilly and cool. Before beginning the second day of the hike, the guide will make a simple yet satisfying breakfast, which you will enjoy in the village. You'll spend around two hours on the morning trek before stopping for lunch in a nearby village. The trekking will continue into the late afternoon for around three hours to another waterfall set in the jungle where you may unwind and take a break from the hiking, . After the falls, we will proceed the short distance to the waiting vehicle where you will be taken back to your Chiang Mai hotel.
Note: The ethnic Karen villages visted on this trek are not the Long Neck Karen.

Wear light clothes as trekking in this part of the world can be hot and sweaty work. Shorts, T shirt and a sun hat are ideal. Long trousers are OK as they will protect your lower legs more but will be hotter to wear. Although hiking boots are not a necessity at least a sturdy pair of running shoes should be worn. Some people trek with sandals but they do leave your feet open to be scratched by vegetation also flip flops (thongs) aren’t appropriate as they don't provide enough support. In the rainy season from April to October bring a rain coat. Bring a change of clothes for after the rafting.
A small rucksack/day sack, shorts and T shirt for trekking (long trousers if you prefer), A change of clothes (shorts & t shirt) especially useful in the wet season to change into at the end of the day, warm jumper/fleece for cool season, Walking shoes, socks, swimming suit, small towel/sarong, insect spray, sun cream, raincoat (rainy season), some toilet paper, one bottle of water. Some money for drinks and hill tribe crafts. No bedding or sleeping bags are required as we supply all the necessary sleeping equipment.
Free pick up and drop off is included to and from any Chiang Mai city hotel. Sorry we can not pick up from out of town resorts.
