The Chiang Mai trekking with elephants tour combines scenic jungle hikes with an ethical elephant experience, where you can feed, walk alongside, and observe the elephants in their natural environment.
TOUR DESCRIPTION
Get ready for an early start, as this full-day adventure east of Chiang Mai is packed with activities. Your guide and driver will collect you from your hotel and take you about an hour into the stunning Mae Wang area, with a short stop at a local Thai market for coffee or snacks. The first highlight is the elephant camp, where you’ll spend two to three hours feeding, bathing, and playing with the elephants in the mud or river, as well as giving them their daily vitamin treats. Next, enjoy a peaceful bamboo rafting trip along the Win River, floating past forests and rural scenery for about 40–60 minutes. Since the rafts sit low in the water, it’s best to wear swimwear or bring a change of clothes. Afterward, a hearty lunch will recharge you for the afternoon trek. Along the three-hour hike, you’ll pass rice fields, jungle trails, and stop at two waterfalls—one perfect for a refreshing swim. Expect to return to Chiang Mai by around 6:00 pm.
