This trip will offer you a very special 3 day 2 night trekking experience and a half-day of biking in the mountains around Chiang Dao. Stay in a real Lahu house and another night in the secluded Tree House Village.
TOUR DESCRIPTION
Day 1
We pick you up from your Chiang Mai accommodation and then head north towards Chiang Dao. We will make a stop at a local market to pick up some trekking supplies then continue a short distance to the trek drop-off point. From here you will start the trek. Trekking on the first day will be mostly uphill as we have to make our way high up into the mountains to a remote Lahu hill tribe village. We will arrive in the village late afternoon and you will be free to kick back and relax or explore the village with your guide. Your guide will prepare your evening meal and you will overnight in the Lahu villages own houses.

Day 2
Breakfast will be taken in the Lahu village and we will then commence a full day trekking. We will make our way through some pristine and thick forest. We will take breaks as necessary and will stop by a small waterfall if you want to refresh in the cool waters. Our final destination for the day will be Mae Mae Shan Village and your accommodation for the night, Treehouse Village. Treehouse Village is an accommodation project built with the local Shan community. This timber and bamboo construction clings to the hillside and affords great views over the valley and forest below, certainly a very special and unique place to spend the night. Late afternoon and early evening you will be free to explore the village or kick back and relax in the relative comfort of Treehouse Village
Overnight - Treehouse Village
Day 3
After breakfast, your guide will escort you to visit the local hill tribe school in the village. The school here serves many hill tribe villages in the area which do not have schools of their own. Due to the distance of the villages away from this school, most pupils here have to board (sleep) at the school as it is simply too far for them to make the daily commute. Following the school visit, we will then commence the morning trek, we will trek down the valley following a little forested stream to the waiting transport. A short 25-minute drive will bring us to our cycle start point. From here we will make our way by bike on local tracks and narrow roads through farming communities, passing rice paddies, fruit orchards, and small villages our final destination of the day will be the large and imposing Ban Den Temple before making the 1-hour drive back to Chiang Mai and transfer to your hotel.

This is a 3 Day 2 night tour and you will be provided with meals as follows: |
Night 1: You will be staying in a real Lahu Villages house, Accommodation is VERY basic and you will sleep on thin sleeping mats on the floor. bathrooms are shared and depending on numbers in your group sleeping areas might be shared with others.
Night 2: You will stay in Tree House Village in Mae Mae Village. Accommodation is basic but comfortable and bathrooms are shared. Some private rooms and dorm-type rooms are available
Accident insurance is provided to cover medical bills up to a maximum amount of 1,000,000 baht.
Free pick up and drop off is included to and from any Chiang Mai city hotel. As this is a privately escorted tour we can pick up and drop off at out of town resorts. There may be an extra charged levied for pick up and drop off at outlying establishments. We can notify you of any extra charges before we request any payments.
