Make the most of your day in the Mae Tang Area by combining whitewater rafting with Mountain biking. On this day you will really get to find out what this stunning area has to offer while experiencing two great activities. The rafting on this tour will take in the full rafting stretch of the Mae Tang River and the biggest rapids.

TOUR DESCRIPTION

You will be picked up at your Chiang Mai Guest House/hotel and drive north to the Mae Tang area. You will be dropped at the bike departure point where you will need to travel under your own steam as we change to mountain bikes where you will ride up the Mae Tang River valley. Lunch will be taken at the rafting camp by the river. The fun will continue after lunch as you board the rafts and cover about 10 km of the best and biggest rapids the Mae Tang River has to offer. In the wet season, you will be tackling rapids of up to grade 4. At the end of the course, you will have the chance to change out of your wet clothes before our drive back to Chiang Mai.

Safety

You will be led by seasoned and well trained rafting guides. Your safety is always the number one priority. A limited amount of accident insurance is provided to cover some medical bills in case of an injury but it is advised that you have your own comprehensive accident insurance. Before commencement of the white water rafting you will have a briefing on safety and navigation techniques.

What to wear

Wear light clothes as biking in this part of the world can be hot and sweaty work. Shorts, T shirt and a sun hat are ideal. Wear a swimsuit or shorts for the rafting and a t-shirt if you choose. There is no footwear worn in the raft. You will be supplied with a life jacket and safety helmet. After the day's rafting, you will need a change of dry clothes.

What to bring

You will need your swim suit, towel or sarong, sun cream, change of dry clothes, sandals.

Pick up and drop off

Free pick up and drop off is included to and from any Chiang Mai city hotel. Sorry we can not pick up from out of town resorts.

Free pick-up for this tour can only be made at hotels within the pick-up zone indicated on the map. If your hotel is situated outside this zone please contact us as a special pick-up can be arranged on some tours (extra charge may apply) or we can designate a convenient pick-up location for you if you can make your own way into the pick-up zone.
