TRIP DESCRIPTION

Day 3
The boat will depart Pakbeng at 09:00am for the finals day transport on the Mekong River to Luang Prabang. The boat should finally dock in Luang Prabang at around 17:00

This programme is not a tour or tour package, it is a transport package, staff are provided to ensure you get to the correct accommodation boats and buses etc but no tour guide is provided. You are required to arrange your own visa (this is available to most nationalities on arrival at the Huay Xai border post and there is no need to make advance arrangements). No visa fees are included or visa help is provided. QUICK FACTs

Tour Transport
Transport from Chiang Mai to Luang Prabang will be by air conditioned minibus. Transport from Chiang Kong/Huay Xai to Luang Prabang will be by a traditional cargo boat which has been adapted to carry passengers. The seating often consists of wooden benches which can become a bit uncomfortable after a seven hour stretch on the Mekong River so please be prepared for this. We suggest bringing a cushion. Some days the boats can be quite comfortable with an open deck so you can kick back and relax. The type of boat you get depends on the day you travel

Provisions
With in this transport package you will be provided with a simple evening meal on day 1, breakfast and a simple lunchbox on day 2. All other meals will be by your own arrangements

Accommodation
On this tour one nights accommodation is included in Chiang Kong. See above for the options. Note No accommodation is included for the night in Pakbeng. Pakbeng is a very small town and the main street leading from the pier is lined with small guest houses. There is plenty of choice to suit most budgets.

Pick up and drop off
Free pick up is included to and from any Chiang Mai city hotel. Sorry we can not pick up from out of town resorts. This package will terminate at the ferry pier Luang Prabang and you will need to make your own way to your Luang Prabang accommodation
