TRIP DESCRIPTION

Day 2
We will provide a simple breakfast before transferring you to the Thai Immigration post on the Mekong. Once you have completed Thai immigration formalities and have been stamped out of Thailand we will cross the Mekong on a long tail boat to the Laos Immigration Post where you can obtain your Laos visa
A simple packed lunch will be provide for your boat trip. At around 10am the fast boat will depart for your ride down the Mekong to the town of Luang Prabang

Important take note:
This programme is not a tour or tour package, it is a transport package, staff are provided to ensure you get to the correct accommodation boats and buses etc but no tour guide is provided. You are required to arrange your own visa (this is available to most nationalities on arrival at the Huay Xai border post and there is no need to make advance arrangements). No visa fees are included or visa help is provided. An Independent visa service may be offered by your accommodation in Chiang Kong - This service is not provided by Travel HUb or the package operator and are therefore not responsible for the quality of any services offered. This is a budget 'no frills' package but definitely a very rewarding trip to make.

QUICK FACTs

Tour Transport
Transport from Chiang Mai to Luang Prabang will be by air conditioned minibus. Transport from Chiang Kong/Huay Xai to Luang Prabang will be by fast boat. The fast boat can be bit noisy and leg room is limited. You will usually be provided with a helmet. This is not the most comfortable way of traveling on the Mekong to Luang Prabang but it is fast! If you feel this transport is not for you then consider the slow boat package.

Provisions
With in this transport package you will be provided with a simple evening meal on day 1, breakfast and a simple lunchbox on day 2

On this tour one nights accommodation is included in Chiang Kong. See above for the options

Pick up and drop off
Free pick up is included to and from any Chiang Mai city hotel. Sorry we can not pick up from out of town resorts. This package will terminate at the ferry pier Luang Prabang and you will need to make your own way to your Luang Prabang accommodation
