You will experience all the important sights, temple remnants, Buddha statues at Siam's old Kingdoms of Sukhothai and Ayutthaya as well as all the highlights from Kanchanburi province. All these will be featured on this busy 3-day extravaganza of an adventure that will begin in Chiang Mai and bring you back to Bangkok's bustling capital city Bangkok!

TOUR DESCRIPTION

Day 1 - Chiang Mai to Phitsanulok
We will meet you at your Chiang Mai accommodation and immediately proceed with our road trip towards the small city of Lampang, at which point we’ll stop at Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, the most important temple in Lampang province. Following Lampang, we will begin the drive to Sukhothai. Sukhothai, the first former capital on our schedule, was built during the 13th century and is regarded as the first truly independent Thai Kingdom. Our team will take you around this ancient city and you will be able to see the remarkable temple ruins and ancient Buddha statues which are located in the confines of Sukhothai's Historical Park. After our visit to Sukhothai, we will proceed on to Phitsanulok where our first day will end at your Phitsanulok hotel. We strongly suggest visiting the local night market during the evening.

Day 2 - Phitsanulok to Kanchanaburi
We will meet you at your Phitsanulok hotel and visit Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat (Wat Yai), the city’s most important temple as well as a small foundry where bronze Buddha images are cast; you will have the chance to witness talented artists working attentively on copies of the Phra Buddha Chinnarat and observe the casting methods used. (The foundry is closed to the public on Mondays and Tuesdays and also public holidays). on departure from Phitsanulok we will embark on the next leg of the drive to the old capital of Siam, Ayutthaya. This former capital was once known as the most beautiful city in the world as well as the heart of the bustling Siamese Kingdom located directly on the Chao Phraya River. While visiting the ancient town, you will explore some of the most important sites among 400 temple ruins and statues of the Lord Buddha. Following Ayutthaya, we will continue you the drive to the city of Kanchanaburi where we will drop you at your chosen Kanchanaburi hotel.

Day 3 - Kanchanaburi to Bangkok
On this final day you will spend your time in Kanchanaburi, a remarkably beautiful region of Thailand, renowned for its history and its breathtaking natural setting. Your first visit will be at a POW war cemetery, where many members of the allied forces were buried, followed by a stop at the Thailand and Burma Railway Center, which offers a great opportunity to learn more about the construction of the infamous Death Railway as well as the history associated with the events experienced here during the second world war. A stop at the famous Bridge Over The River Kwai is also on our itinerary. You can then take the option to aboard a motorboat and enjoy a ride on the lovely River Kwai; a stunning feature surrounded by valleys and mountains that cut through Kanchanaburi. We’ll reach the local train and commence a train ride through the area; you’ll get to explore some of the Death Railway line in this matter and admire the stunning landscapes as you cross many original bridges built by civilian workers and POWs. Your train journey will end at the Krasae Cave Station, at which point we’ll disembark and have lunch at a local restaurant. Your first visit of the afternoon will be at the Krasae Cave followed by the Wampo Viaduct. These will be the last stops of our three-day trip before making the final drive to your hotel in Bangkok, where your guide and drive will drop you off.
