If you are making you own way to Doi Tung from Chiang Rai you will probably disembarking a public bus at the Doi Tung turn off. Just off the junction at the turn off look out for the carpark with the purple coloured Songtaews as these will do the run up to Doi Tung, The Mae fah Luang Garden and The Royal Villa.
